Personalize It!
As we start a new year, January is the month that we break out the new calendar that Aunt Mary gives us every Christmas and start transferring all those special dates onto our new monthly pages. Grandmas birthday, cousin Ricks graduation from college and Julies wedding this summer, etc... You know the drill.
I don't know about you, but I start to get a little stressed when writing all of this down wondering what in the world am I going to get these people? I mean, how many scarves, trinkets, can you get a person? There's always the stand by of the "gift card". But that seems so impersonal. It doesn't take much thought to walk into a store and plop your money down at the cash register and pick out a gift card with a nice design.
I love the idea of personalized gifts. It shows that the giver took some time and put some thought into the gift. And there are a multitude of items available now for personalizing! For the guys out there looking for something special for their lady, what about an engraved silver keychain, a nice all around gift that is good for new couples as well as established relationships. You can personalize your key chain with a beautiful monogram, a sweet sentiment, or what about a keychain that's also a picture locket? That would be a really nice way to let's say, remember a fun vacation you two took last summer. Put a couple of memorable pictures of your trip inside the key chain locket, add some personalization to the outside and it's a wonderful keepsake.
